Every type of girl imaginable made their way to Station Square on Wednesday, August 25. I saw women my mom’s age, women my grandma’s age, and girls young enough to know more about
Justin Beiber than the band about to take the stage. “Will you marry me?” t-shirts were abundant. I even saw a pregnant chick with a crop top on and permanent marker on her bare belly that said, “Sign my baby.”
Eventually, after enough screaming and squealing from the audience, a little boy in a cowboy hat came wandering out onto the stage to welcome everyone, thank them for coming, and introduce his dad’s boy band(re-read that phrase and soak it in…his *dad’s* *boyband?*). Cute as it might have been, talk about a buzz kill for anyone trying to pretend it was still 1997 and all of the
Backstreet Boys were up for grabs.

When one lives in a city like Pittsburgh, it’s easy to feel like a part of a big family. The tradition, sports teams and food bring every resident together. That same sense of family was in the air for
Punchline’s CD release show at Diesel on August 13.
The Pittsburgh quartet was out to celebrate their sixth album,
‘Delightfully Pleased.’ The Belle Vernon natives have been filling the social media world for months, gearing fans for the big release. Bassist
Chris Fafalios especially took to the Web. He posted a blog post nearly a month before the release stating, “We did what we know best - we wrote a heartfelt, upbeat, rockin’ ‘pop-punk’ album. And I am damn excited about that.”
