Concert Review-CMA 2010The CMA Music Festival is country music’s showcase, a week-long event that treats the world’s best music fans to up-close and personal interactions with their favorite artists, as well as star-studded performance lineups night after night at LP Field, home of the Tennessee Titans.  The nightly concerts at the football field have historically been the highlight of the festival, and this year was different, which each of the four lineups offering sets by the genre’s biggest stars.

Thursday, June 10:

Former American Idol finalist Danny Gokey not only kicked off Thursday night’s lineup, but he was also the first performer of the entire festival on LP Field.  Gokey delivered a predictable, corny, well-sung 15 minute set which only include 4 songs, including his chart-climbing single, “My Best Days Are Ahead Of Me.” Gokey’s good guy personality and still inspiring-story made his otherwise mediocre set somewhat memorable.

The Word-CMA 2010It was that time of the year again.  Hundreds of artists, tens of thousands of fans, and hours of autograph signings and performances, all during one of the hottest weeks of the year in the city known as Hollywood with a touch of twang (thanks Jason Aldean), Nashville TN.  The event known as the ultimate country music fan experience hit the music city on June 10-13, the CMA Music Festival 2010.

This year’s festival followed a tumultuous 6 week period in Nashville due to the devastating flooding that hit the city.  It was certainly a theme of the week for both fans, artists, and even the Country Music Association, who (obviously) hosted the entire event.  Approximately 50% of the proceeds from the festival were donated to flood relief, further proving the dedication and strong-will of country music fans across the world.
